Laura E. Strouse

MT. VERNON- Laura Elaine Strouse, 63, died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital.

She was born Oct. 10, 1954 in Mt. Vernon to the late Paul and Vioma (Fox) Lyons. She was a meticulous housekeeper, enjoyed crafts and doing yard work, and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Terry L. Strouse of Mt. Vernon, whom she married Feb. 22, 1992; five children, Billy (Mary) Griffith of Newark, David (Kim) Griffith of Howard, Paula (Tony) Hart of Fredericktown, Danny (Rachel) Griffith of Howard, and Carrie (Brandon) Butts of Danville; ten grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Juney (Paul), Larry, Karen, Darlene, Marilyn, Donna, Christina, and Janet; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Leona; and a brother, Ronnie.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Workman Cemetery,  with Ernie Lyons officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is assisting the family. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
