WARSAW- Leonard Danville McVey, 85, of CR 25, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Jan. 25, 1926 in Winfield, WV to the late Wesley and Mary (Taylor) McVey. He was a farmer, and worked at Shaw-Barton in Coshocton starting in 1947, until his retirement in 1988. He attended Gospel Hill Ministries, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed farming and caring for his animals, and could often be found on his front porch enjoying nature. But most of all, he loved his Lord, Jesus.
He is survived by his wife, Nora B. (Scarberry) McVey of Warsaw, who he married Jan. 17, 1947. Also surviving are his two children; Carolyn Hamilton of New Albany, and Gary (Susie) McVey of Westerville, seven grandchildren; Lesla, Eric, & Lisa Veigel, Michelle Holland, Tom (Michelle) McVey, Patty (Charles) Beener, and Angela McVey, four great-grandchildren; Ashley & Courtney Holland, and Madison & Morgan Beener, a brother, Glenn (Pam) McVey of Killbuck, two sisters; Mabel Swindaman of Wooster, and Anna McClain of Colorado, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; Charlie, Clifford, Chester, and Earl McVey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at Gospel Hill Ministries near Warsaw, with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens, with graveside military rites conducted by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council. Calling hours will be held at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, and also one our prior to service time at the church on Friday. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
