Coshocton- Leota Mae Stagmyer, 91, a resident of the Autumn Health Care Center, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at the Care Center.
She was born Aug. 11, 1918 in Coshocton to the late Earl and Fannie (Stoker) Bowman. She married Floyd Stagmyer on Feb. 7, 1948, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1990. She worked for Novelty Advertising in Coshocton, and retired after 29 years as a cook for Conesville Elementary. She was also a cook for the Muskingum Valley Boy Scout Camp. She loved to bake pies, and was very well known for being an excellent cook.
She is survived by three sons; Richard (Nancy) Ugie of Dresden, John (Barb) Stagmyer of Warsaw, and Ralph Stagmyer of West Lafayette, a daughter, Elaine (Rodney) Larr of Conesville, grandchildren; Lesha (Robin) Barnhart, Douglas (Judy) Ugie, Brad (Lori) Stagmyer, Scott Stagmyer, and Rick (Tammy) Larr, great-grandchildren; Whitney & Kris Barnhart, Taylor Ugie, Bethany & Alysa Stagmyer, and Marcus, Ryan & Tori Larr, and great-great-grandchildren; Destiny & Cyrus Barnhart.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Alice Hughes, and four brothers; Bob, Harold, Wilbur, and Bill Bowman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Coralee Cox officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, and until service time on Saturday.
