Warsaw- Lillie Katherine "Katie" Kirch, 88, of Warsaw passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility, where she was a resident for nearly two years.
She was born September 4, 1920 in New Concord to the late George William and Nellie Jane (Rutherford) Craft. She graduated from Brown High School in Cambridge, worked at Firestone during World War II and with her husband Robert, owned and operated Katie and Bob's Restaurant in Warsaw from 1965 to 1976. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Coshocton, and many local clubs and organizations in Warsaw. She enjoyed cooking and sewing throughout her life and quilting in her later years. On September 21, 1943 she married Robert F. Kirch, whom preceded her in death on February 10, 1984.
Survivors include two sons; Robert L. (Cathy) Kirch of London, KY and Lynn F. (Jim) Kirch of Columbus, a daughter, Linda (David) Lorenz of Warsaw, three grandchildren; Leanne (Brian) Umlauf and Allison (Calvin) Kirch of London, KY, and the Rev. Anthony Lorenz of Mercersburg, PA, and four great-grandchildren; Anna, Dylan, Jacob, and Haley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by two brothers; Boyd and Woodrow Craft, and two sisters; Martha Luwinna Ferbrache and Moina Evaline Craft.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Tim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
