DANVILLE- Loretta Jean Sharp, 60, of Workman Rd., went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
She was born April 6, 1954 in Denver, CO to the late Grover and Evelyn May (Hoselton) Hammonds. She was a 1972 graduate of Danville High School. She was a loving wife and mother, and she fought hard and put up a courageous battle against her illness. She is already greatly missed by many friends and family members.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Douglas Sharp of Danville, whom she married Nov. 5, 1973, two daughters; Lisa (Angel Villarreal) Sharp and Amy Sharp, both of Danville, two granddaughters; Aalayah & Selena Sharp, both of Danville, a grandson, Austin Villarreal of Danville, four sisters; Patricia Smith of Mt. Vernon, Judy (Frank) Flood of Bladensburg, Connie (Buster) May of Mt. Vernon, and Beverly Summerfield of Danville, five brothers; Raymond (Mindy) Hammonds of Monterey, TN, Albert (Ruth) Hammonds of Mansfield, Billy (Reita) Hammonds of Danville, Jimmy Hammonds of Mt. Vernon, and Rory Hammons of Danville, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Larry Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Pastor Sheila Kent officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
