Mount Vernon - Loretta E. Staats, 86, formerly of Walhonding, died Monday May 31, 2010 at her residence.
She was born January 15, 1924 in Holmes County to the late Ronald E. and Lucile (Henwood) Neiderhouser. On November 23, 1955 she was married to William J. Staats. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1986. She enjoyed square dancing, knitting, crocheting, and her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son; Ronald (Sharon) Staats of Walhonding, a daughter; Sandra Staats-Monroe of Columbus, grandchildren; Brent (Bethany) Staats of Mount Vernon, and Nicholas Staats of Walhonding, and a brother; James (Rosalie) Neiderhouser of Indiana.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday June 3, 2010 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Stan Ratliff will be officiating. Visiting will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery.
