Louise Janice Chapman

October 7, 1934 — December 24, 2010

Warsaw- Louise Janice "Jan" Chapman, 76, of TR 381, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

She was born Oct. 7, 1934 in Knox Co. to the late Alva R. and Ruth D. (Kodger) Carr. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, and playing volleyball and softball. She was also known for her love of singing and playing the guitar.

She is survived by her son, John (Julia) Chapman of Massillon, her daughter, Ruth (Yancy) Gardner-Carter of Warsaw, five grandchildren; Brian Carter, James (Bambi) Chapman, John (Amparo) Chapman, Jr., Julia Chapman, and Jessica Chapman, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Lloyd (Ellen) Carr of Danville, six sisters; Anna Parsons of Mt. Vernon, Ruby Parsons of Jelloway, Faye (Joseph) Wolford of Howard, Linda Staton of Danville, Wanna Jean (Wesley) Robison of Killbuck, June (George) Booso of Franklin, a sister-in-law, Iva Carr of Danville, and many nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Carr, a sister, Donna Mae Carr, and a great granddaughter, Mary Beth Chapman.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at the FISCHER FUNERAL HOME IN DANVILLE with Pastor Sharon Kirch officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is one hour prior to service time on Wednesday.


At the family's request, memorial donations may be made towards funeral expenses at the Fischer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 515, Danville, OH 43014.
