Lynn J. Miller

July 26, 1955 — June 29, 2012

MT. VERNON- Lynn Joseph Miller, age 56, of Scott Road, died June 29, 2012 following a brief illness.

Lynn was born July 26, 1955 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio to John "Joe" Miller and Eileen M. (Raasch) Miller. He was a graduate of Danville High School class of 1974 and went to work for Cooper Bessemer (Rolls Royce) shortly after graduation.
Lynn's greatest passion in life was his family. His hobbies included hunting and shooting. It didn't matter what he was hunting (deer, raccoon, squirrels, rabbits), it was what he enjoyed. His love of coon hunting got him into showing coon dogs and earned him many ribbons and trophies. This was a sport that he and his children enjoyed doing together. Lynn had an enormous love for dogs. It didn't really matter what breed as long as it had a tail and it wagged.

Lynn enjoyed playing and watching sports. He was very supportive of his children's athletic careers and in encouraging community youth athletics by being instrumental in the development of the Little League baseball fields on Pipesville Road in Howard. Lynn was an active member of the St. Luke Catholic Church of Danville.

He is survived by his wife and soul mate of 24 years Carole L. (Deem) Miller, two sons; Luke Miller and John Miller both of Mt. Vernon, a daughter, and Sarah (Grant) Durbin of Howard, his parents; John J. and Eileen Miller of Danville, two brothers; Keith (Barbara) Miller and Greg (Beverly) Miller of Howard, and a sister, Becky (George) Brownfield of Millwood and several aunts, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

The family would like to especially thank Rolls Royce and Local Union 90 for their support, prayers and compassion. To all of Lynn's friends that extended their thoughts of prayers, cards, food, memories, and texts; they were very much appreciated. Thank you all and God Bless.

Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Knox County; 17700 Coshocton Rd., Mount Vernon, 43050.

Friends and family may call Monday July 2, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville.
