Mabel "Irene" Lepley

Danville – Mabel Irene (Kidwell) Lepley, 91, passed away at home on Wednesday January 2, 2019.

She was born in Danville on September 13, 1927 to Charles and Edith Kidwell. She was married to M. Dale Lepley on February 12, 1946, who preceded her in death in 2009. Together they square danced for over 40 years at the Martinsburg Community Center, and many other places where he was a “caller”. She retired from Danville Local Schools as a cafeteria cook, but also worked at Patented Products in Danville, was a Stanley Home Products Distributor, and was also a professional wallpaper hanger.

Irene was a member of the Danville Church of Christ and the American Legion, and also belonged to several card clubs.

She is survived by three sons, Melvin Daniel Lepley of Mount Vernon, Ronald D. Lepley of Apple Valley, and Gary (Lesley) Lepley of Danville, four daughters, Karen Martin, Carolyn Addair of Danville, Diane Lepley of Millwood, and Susan Jones of Killbuck, grandchildren, Melissa Jaimes, Mark Lepley, Renae (Andrew) Berman, Shelly (Shawn) Mason, Samantha Lepley, Chris (Shelly) Lepley, Angie Lepley (Chad Long), Kala (Mike) Daugherty, Julie (David) Levy, Ashlee (Brandon) Albright, MMN Lance M. (Stephanie) Addair- U.S. Navy, Stephanie Moore, Stacy Jones (Colton Spellman), Brittany (Sgt. Aaron) Foster - U.S. Army, and Kelly Lepley, 35 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Fred (Marge) Kidwell of Delaware, and a sister, Margaret Lepley of Newark.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernie (Ruth) Kidwell, a sister, Hazel Akins, a grandson, Brent Addair, sister and brother-in-law, Joan Lepley and Roy Dininger, brothers-in-law, William Sanford Lepley and Cecil Lepley, a nephew, David Lepley, and a niece, Kim Lepley Carr.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Jason Thomas will be officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 until service time.
