Mae O. Hoberg

September 30, 1913 — November 16, 2008

Warsaw- Odelva Mae "Little Grandma" Hoberg, 95, of Warsaw joined Grandpa in Heaven on his birthday, November 16, 2008. She passed onto Eternity from Knox Community Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born in Cavallo, OH on September 30, 1913 to the late George and Edna (Spurgeon) Ridenbaugh. Mae was a 1930 graduate of Warsaw High School. She later graduated from Ashland College with a teaching certificate and taught for several years at a one-room school in the Wolf Creek area. She enjoyed all the little things of life from her roses, playing catch, and the Cincinnati Reds to being the "noodle dipper" at Tiverton's Jitney Supper. She was a member of the Brinkhaven Church of Christ, the Tiverton Grange, the Tiverton Home Ec. Club, and the Mohawk CB Club using the CB handle, TLC. On June 2, 1932, she married Arthur William Hoberg and was the mother of three children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, their first son, Jerry Edison, oldest grandson, Lunda Lee Jr., and great great-grandson Jaydon James Hoberg.

Surviving is Lunda Lee Sr. (Patty) Hoberg of Newark and family including grandson James Allen (Shelly) Hoberg; twin great-grandsons, Ryan Allen and Cody James of Newark; great-grandsons, James Jr., Dustin Lee, and Daniel Arthur Hoberg of Newark; and granddaughter Patty Sue (John D.) Hineman of Tipton, Missouri; great-granddaughters, Morgan and Sidney, and great-grandson Tyler. Also surviving is Betty Jean (Albert) Haines of Warsaw and family including grandson Lynn Hoberg (Deborah) Haines of Newark; great-granddaughter, Gabriella "Gabi" MaeLynn Haines; step great-granddaughter, Kathy (DJ) Luna of Heath and granddaughter Sallie (Rusty) Gates of Warsaw. A sister, Pearl Crise of Newark, several great, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a special, special friend, Bernie Morrison, survives her. A sister, Zella Fry, and brothers: Russell, Bert, Lester, Charles, Ray, William, and Milton Ridenbaugh preceded Mae in death.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008, 11:00am at the Tiverton Cemetery with Pastor Deborah Haines officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Knox Community Hospital, Attn: Palliative Care Unit, 1330 Coshocton Road, Mt. Vernon, OH 43050.
