DANVILLE- Margaret Lee “Peg” Beck, 73, died March 7, 2017 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 20, 1943 in Mt. Vernon to the late Paul M. and Helen (Buxton) Purdy. She was a 1961 graduate of Howard High School, and she attended Bliss Business College. She married Keith F. Beck on Oct. 1, 1966, who preceded her in death on June 4, 2003.
Peg worked as a teller for the Killbuck Savings Bank (formerly the Commercial & Savings Bank) in Danville for over 40 years. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Temple. She loved her family and friends, and especially visiting with them on her front porch.
She is survived by her daughter, Traci (Curtis) Whittaker of Mt. Vernon; a granddaughter, Reagan Whittaker; three brothers, Howard B. (Deborah) Purdy of Mt. Vernon, Paul Richard Purdy of Jefferson, TX, and Tom (Marjorie) Purdy of Howard; many nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with Pastor Curt Smith officiating. Calling hours are from 10:00 a.m. until service time. A private burial will take place at Workman Cemetery. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
