Danville - Marilla Rose (Ferenbaugh) Thorpe, 87, passed away Tuesday January 28, 2014 at the Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville.
She was born in Knox County on September 19, 1926 to Glenn D. and Ferol M. (Payne) Ferenbaugh, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by a sister, Rosalie Boyce, and a brother, Clyde Ferenbaugh.
Surviving is her daughter, Debbie (John) McClain of Danville, sons; Jim (Renee) Thorpe of Jacksonville, FL, and John (Tammie) Thorpe of Danville, grandchildren; Joanna Farmer, Amy McClain, Nicholas Thorpe, Jennifer Thorpe, Kyle Thorpe, and Julie Thorpe, great grandchildren; Angela Farmer, Eric Farmer, Landon Thorpe, Tristen Thorpe, and Marilla Vernon, 5 sisters; Twila (Dick) Colopy of Danville, Lucille (Rich) Greer of Butler, Kay Weyhmeller of Bellville, Helen Grassbaugh of Glendale, AZ, and Carol (Bill) Grassbaugh of Glenmont, 6 brothers; Rodney of Mount Vernon, Robert of Chillicothe, Glenn Jr. (Martha) of Howard, Albert (Denise) and Gerald of Danville, and Edward (Chris) Ferenbaugh of Glenmont, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give thanks to some very special people. Joanna and Angela Farmer, and Nora Brooks for helping take care of Marilla while still at home, and the Colonial Manor staff and Hospice of North Central Ohio during her time there.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 1, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Jason Postle will officiate. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-8 Friday.
