Coshocton- Marilyn Joyce Jones, 72, of Grant Ave. died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.
She was born June 4, 1937 in Coshocton Co. to the late Oliver Kenneth and Ruth Geneva (Slaughter) Meek. She married Donis Jones on April 6, 1956, who survives. She was a 1955 graduate of Coshocton High School, and a 1956 graduate of the Newark School of Cosmetology. She was a former beautician, a housewife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a life-long member of the Grace United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed cooking, reading, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donis Jones of Coshocton, a daughter, Anne (Bruce) Adams of Coshocton, two sons; Steven (Joilynn) Jones of Coshocton, and Shawn (Mark Askew) Jones of San Francisco, CA, five grandchildren; Katie (Bryan) Parsons of Coshocton, Hanna (Jesse) Milligan of Coshocton, Maggie Grier of Coshocton, Caleb Jones of Akron, and Sara Jones of Coshocton, three great-grandchildren; Cohen Parsons, Allie Hains, and Ryder Milligan, two brothers; Richard (Shirley) Meek of Coshocton, and Gene (June) Meek of Columbus, a sister-in-law, Darlene (Jack) Berry of Coshocton, a brother-in-law, Tom Jones of Coshocton, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Scott Matthew Jones, who died Oct. 23, 1979.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Jan Coffman officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
