Marjorie L. (Hains) Ward

Coshocton, OH

COSHOCTON- Marjorie Lavana Ward, 86, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021 at Windsorwood Place, where she was a resident.

She was born on a Sunday, June 3, 1934 to the late Levi and Lela R. (Thomas) Hains. She married Robert J. “Squeaky” Ward on Oct. 9, 1949, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1995. She was a homemaker and also cleaned house for others for several years. She learned to drive and got her driver’s license at the age of 61. Traveling in the camper her husband built, they visited many states throughout the 1970’s & 1980’s. Later on, they enjoyed going to steam engine shows. She also loved painting ceramics.

Marjorie was a member of the Cooperdale Church of the Nazarene, and also attended the Coshocton Church of God.

She is survived by two children, Steven James (Susan) Ward of Dresden, and Cathy Jo (Dave) Dile of Coshocton; four grandchildren, Stanton (Juanita) Welch, Joshua (Kelly) Ward, Amy (Steve) McGuire, and Steven (Elizabeth) Ward; twelve great-grandchildren, Olivia, Rylee, Morgan, Joel, Aaron, Emma, Anna, Carter, Kaitlyn, Brandon, Boone, and Breighlynn; a great-great-grandson, Rowan; two sisters, Barb (Ed) Fitch, and Cozetta (Paul) Grim; and three sisters-in-law, Ellen Byers, Ruth (Arthur) Ball, Judy Guthrie.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Dile; a sister, Mary Hains; a brother, Dwight Hains; her father-in-law, Roy Guthrie; her mother-in-law, Willaw Guthrie; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Lowe; and three brothers-in-law, Dale Guthrie, Gary Guthrie, & Marty Lowe.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at Smith Hill Union Cemetery, with Pastor Mike Jansen officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements.
