Danville - Martha "Betty" Elizabeth Degenhart, 89, went to her heavenly home on Thursday March 25, 2010.
She was born April 5, 1920 in Cambridge to Joseph V. and Marie M. (McCulley) Castner. She was married to Robert W. Degenhart. She was a member of St. Mary's church in Groveport for over 60 years, including the "Forever Young" church group, and also the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville. She was employed by Lazarus for over 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children; Tommy Degenhart and Judith Penn, her brother; Robert V. Castner (wife Helen), her sisters; Marjorie Castner, D. Joann Walgamott, and Genevieve Polanka, and a grandson; Joseph Abbitt.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Robert (Lorena) Abbitt, Sheryl (Duane) Mickley, Julie (Scott) Grady, Tom (Deidre) Abbitt, and Angie (Troy) Fenner, great grandchildren; Jessica, Jennifer, Melissa, Chris, Scotty, Mike, Chance, Tomea, Pierce, Joshua, Brayden, Abbie, and Ali, a great-great grandchild; Brayden, a brother-in-law; Osh Wolgamott, a son-in-law; David Penn, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday March 29, 2010 at the St. Luke church in Danville. The Rev. F. Richard Snoke will officiate. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. in Northwood Cemetery in Cambridge. Calling will be from 10-11:00 at the church Monday.
