WALHONDING- Martha Fern Mizer, 91, of Woods Church Rd., died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 22, 1920 in Hunt Station to the late Jacob Edward and Florence Harriet (Clayton) Chase. She married Virgil Mizer on Nov. 16, 1938, who preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1980. She was a 1938 graduate of Centerburg High School, and a member of the Bladensburg Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, and was a friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by three sons; Milan Mizer of Walhonding, John (Betty Jo) Mizer of Gambier, and George (Tami) Mizer of Walhonding, a daughter, Donna Bowers of Newark, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two sisters; Jocie Chase of Tuscon, AZ, and Lyda Senseman of Mt. Vernon.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by ten siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Rev. Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
