COSHOCTON - Martha Ellen Rice, 80, of SR 541 died Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center in Canton.
She was born September 17, 1931 in Coshocton County to the late George W. and Nelle (Cheney) Brunskill.
Martha was a homemaker, a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, a member of the Eastern Star, and a card club member since 1950. She was a member of the Coshocton County Farm Bureau and the Farm Council. She worked at Producer's Livestock and Keller-Kirscher-Martin & Clinger CPAs, she was a 1949 graduate of Coshocton High School, and was a graduate of the Coshocton Business College.
She is survived by her children, Karen S. Shepler, Sharon E. (Jeff) Poland, and Greg (Jan) Rice all of Coshocton. Her grandchildren, Jay (Ashley) Shepler, Kyle Shepler, Kimberly Shepler, Darcy Poland and fiancAC. Chad Miller, Scott Poland, Julie (Ben) Liston, Melanie Rice, and John Rice. Great grandson, Sam Shepler, step great grandson, Ashton Fries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rice, who she married Sept. 7, 1952, he died May 1, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her step mother, Bernice Clark Brunskill, and a sister and brother-in-law, Frances (Kenneth) Jones.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roscoe United Methodist Church with Pastor Coralee Cox officiating. Burial will be in the South Lawn Cemetery at Coshocton. Visitation will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 from 4-8 p.m at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw and one hour prior to the service at the church.
