Martha Violet Thompkins
COLUMBUS - Martha Violet Thompkins, 91, of Columbus and formerly of Coshocton died February 3, 2009 at the Kobacker House in Columbus.
She was born April 11, 1917 in Mechanic Township, Holmes County to the late William Ward and Orvetta Belle (Norris) Moore.
She was a comptroller for St. Regis Paper Co. in Coshocton. She was a 62 year member of the Coshocton Business and Professional Women's Club, a Grange member for over 55 years, last a member of the Bethlehem Grange, and a former member of the Grace United Methodist Church. She was a 1935 graduate of Coshocton High School. She loved to play bingo and write poetry.
She is survived by her daughter, Macille Annette Thompkins Stoner of Columbus. Two grandchildren, Shari Ann Stoner and William Howard Stoner both of Columbus. Four great grandchildren, Amanda Ann Imhoff, Samantha Lee Stoner, Cameron Elijah Stoner, and Vivian Ellis Stoner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Thompkins, who died in 1958. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Lee, Fred, & Carl Moore and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Ron Davis officiaiting, the BPW will also conduct a service at that time. Burial will be in the Blissfield Cemetery. Visitation is from 12 - 1 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
