Warsaw- Mary V. Heath, 87, long time resident Willoughby, Ohio, formerly of Martins Ferry Ohio, devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at her daughter's residence in Warsaw.
During WWII she worked at Republic Steel as one of the "Rosie the Riveters", working on B29 Bombers. She also worked at Fisher Body Welding, where she welded LTV's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred A. Heath whom she married May 6, 1944 and who died February 15, 1990.
She is survived by her beloved children; a son, Allen A. Heath (Shirley) of Willowick, Ohio, and a daughter, Roberta M. Shannon (Richard Shannon, Sr.) of Warsaw, Ohio, five grandchildren; Emily Heath (who is a U.S. Army Combat Medic Veteran of Iraq), and Madeline Heath of Willowick, Ohio, Richard Shannon Jr. (Laura) of Newark, Ohio, Mary Margaret Cameron (Tony) of Warsaw, Ohio, Matthew R. Shannon Sr. of Fresno, Ohio, seven great-grandchildren; Harold "Joey" Sharier Jr. (currently serving with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan and a Veteran of Iraq), Anna Sharier of Warsaw, Matthew (Robbie) Shannon Jr. of Fresno (currently serving with the Ohio National Guard), Nathan & Phillip Shannon of Fresno, Ohio, and Marilyn & Nicholas Shannon of Newark, Ohio, one sister, Anne Miller of Brilliant, Ohio, and one beloved niece, Celia (Ron) Stewart of Wheeling, W.Va.
She is also predeceased by beloved nieces; Annette Aprea & Joann Perri, and
two sisters; Clara Carpino & Minnie Perri of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery near Warsaw. Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 18th at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
