Mary Jane Lonsinger

February 15, 1925 — March 23, 2013

UTICA - A funeral service for Mary Jane (Crow) Lonsinger will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Utica United Methodist Church 626 North Street in Utica with Revs. Ken Kelly and Daniel Drew officiating. Burial will follow in the Martinsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Lonsinger was born on February 15, 1925. After graduating from Galena Ohio High School, Mary Jane attended White Cross School of Nursing in Columbus where she received her nursing degree. She worked many years as a registered nurse, then assisted her husband in the management of their pharmacies in Utica and Danville for 43 years.

While raising her family, she always put out a big garden every year for all to enjoy. She was active in the community as past president of the Utica PTA, a member of the Utica Band Booster Club, head of the Mission Committee at Utica United Methodist Church, and a member of the infamous Saturday Review Club. All who knew Mary Jane will remember her as a woman very engaged in life and with people. She also had a rather sassy mouth, but we loved her for it.

Mrs. Lonsinger is survived by three sons, Mark D. (Karen) Lonsinger of Charleston, WV, David L. Lonsinger of Tampa, FL and Paul P. Lonsinger of Utica, OH. Three grandsons, Michael D. (Jocelyn) Lonsinger, Matthew D. (Teresa) Lonsinger, and M. Daniel Lonsinger, all of Charleston, WV. Two great grandsons, Devin C. and William M. Lonsinger.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles L. Lonsinger, her parents Mae Bebout Crow Miller and Chauncy Crow, and her sister, Harriet Earlywine.

The family would like to acknowledge her dedicated caregivers, Jennifer Stuck, her niece, Jayne Mastroianni, her niece, Patricia Seward, and Jona Gantner.

The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling the arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com

"Father time is not always a hard parent, and though he tarries for none of his children, often lays his hand lightly upon those who have used him well; making them old men and women inexorably enough, but leaving their hearts and spirits young and in full vigor; with such people the gray head is but the impression of the old fellow's hand in giving them his blessing, and every wrinkle but a notch in the quiet calendar of a well spent life." - Charles Dickens
