FRAZEYSBURG- Mary Ellen (Ashcraft) McKee, 76, of TR 475, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark.
She was born Oct. 4, 1934 in Coshocton Co. to the late Ernest and Ada (Myers) Ashcraft. She married Donald Richard McKee on Sept. 9, 1956, who preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1997. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, the Church Ladies Missionary Society, the Red Hat Society, the Fallsburg Homemakers Club, the Blendon Grange, and the Union High School Alumni. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and her swimming pool, swimming as often as she could. She loved baking cookies, especially for her grandchildren, and was very social, often visiting people and talking with friends on the telephone.
She is survived by three sons; Donald Richard (Sheila) McKee, Jr. of Statesboro, GA, Michael A. (Rae Jeanne) McKee, and David L. (Renae) McKee, both of Frazeysburg, eight grandchildren; Matthew, Susanna, and Sarah Catherine McKee all of Statesboro, GA, Caitlin, Michael Jr., and Blake McKee, and Mitchell & Cole McKee, all of Frazeysburg, and two sisters; Betty (Gary) Trego, and Doris (Richard) Smith, both of Frazeysburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Mason McKee.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Karl Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in West Carlisle Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20th, and until service time on Monday.
