Mary Ann (Fry) Devore

MOUNT VERNON- Mary Ann (Fry) Devore, 87, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

She was born Oct. 28, 1936 in Allentown, PA to the late Irwin and Lillian (Wotring) Fry. She married Delmar D. Devore Oct. 1, 1960, who preceded her in death Dec. 30, 2008.

Mary Ann was a Pastor's wife, helping Delmar run a Christian School for many years. She attended Covenant Christian Church in Mount Vernon, where she was active in the greeting card ministry and the food pantry. She had a heart for helping others, including the Mary's & Martha's group that bought Christmas gifts for needy children.

She is survived by three children, Debra Devore of Mount Vernon, David (Lisa) Devore of Mount Vernon, and Darlene (Kenneth) Childers of Heath; three grandchildren; Ryan Devore, Micayla (Matthew) Wise, and Clayton Childers; two great-grandchildren, Cayden and Lucas Wise; her sister, Marlene (Frank) Long of Naples, FL; three nieces; and one nephew.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 at Workman Cemetery in Danville. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Covenant Christian Church on Saturday, Dec. 9th at 3:00 p.m. Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
