Max W. Bowers

COSHOCTON- Max W. Bowers, 94, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville.

He was born July 10, 1929 in Coshocton Co. to the late Walter and Dorothy M. (Sowers) Bowers. He married Clarice R. (Bucklew) Bowers on May 31, 1949, who preceded him in death on July 6, 2023.

Max was a 1949 graduate of Warsaw High School. He worked at Buckeye Fabric for many years until his retirement. He owned and operated a tree farm in New Castle Twp. for over 50 years, and loved working with wood. He was a true farmer at heart.

He is survived by two children, Kim (Leslie) Bowers of Warsaw, and Dixie (Larry) Frye of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren, Mike (Dawn) Booth, Nichole Bowers, Ben (Christine) Bowers, Jeremiah Frye, Jennifer (Andrew) Smith, Levin (Josh) Guilliams, and Layne (Brandon) Wheeler; eight great-grandchildren, Anthony, Rachel, & Joseph Booth, Lexa, Layla, & Jax Guilliams, and Katie & Locklin Wheeler; and his dog, “Lady”.

Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Valley View Cemetery.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
