West Lafayette- Maxine Lee Bower, 68, of Newcomerstown died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at the Lafayette Pointe Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 18, 1941 in Akron to the late John N. and Maye Palmer. She married Elmer Bower in Sept. of 1979, whom preceded her in death in 1987. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse who was dedicated to working with the elderly in nursing homes all of her life. She loved country music, craft shows and fairs.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane (Steve) D'Jurik of Akron, a son, James (Patti) Kochis of Cuyahoga Falls, three grandchildren; Stephanie D'Jurik, and Jeremy & Jacob Kochis, a sister, Linda Sharier of West Lafayette, special friends; Wilma & Jackie, and her 12 year-old cat "Moe".
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Palmer.
Per Maxine's wishes, she has been cremated and a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at Prairie Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Mark Unrue officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maxine L. Bower Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 25, Warsaw, OH 43844. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements.
