Mount Vernon – Melvin Daniel Lepley passed away at the Country Court nursing home on Monday August 4, 2025, at the age of 79.
He was one of seven children of Melvin Dale and Mabel Irene (Kidwell) Lepley, who preceded him in death along with his sister, Karen Martin; and daughter, Melissa Dawn Jaimes.
Melvin served in the Naval Reserves, and was a member of the former Killbuck AMVETS. He spent most of his life on the road as a long-distance truck driver.
Surviving are his children, Mark (Tracy) Lepley of Coshocton, Shelly (Shawn) Mason of Virginia, Brenda (Mike) Free of Illinois, Renae (Andrew) Berman of Killbuck, and Samantha Lepley of Bladensburg; grandchildren, AJ Jaimes, Jessica Sowders, Kevin Lepley, Mark (Ashley) Lepley, Dillon Lepley, Patience (Ryan) Kelley, Phillip Lepley, Andrew Lepley, Calob Berman, Andrea Berman, and Alex Mason; 12 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ron Lepley, Carolyn Addair, Diane Lepley, Susan Jones, and Gary Lepley; great aunt, Margaret (Kidwell) Lepley, and multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Workman Cemetery on August 23 at 1:00 p.m. There will also be a celebration of Melvin’s life planned for a later date.
