MOUNT VERNON – Mertin “Mutt” Rolland Kirch, 99, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at The Laurels of Mt. Vernon.

He was born August 31, 1916 in Coshocton County to the late Calvin Stewart and Chloe (Heffelfinger) Kirch.

Mutt was a 1933 graduate of Warsaw High School. He worked for the former W.P. McCarren and Apache Aggregate Companies for 56 years. He was a member of the Dutch Run Church of Christ in his younger days. He loved watching deer and his cat. He was very musically inclined having played the fiddle, guitar, trumpet, and baritone.

He is survived by his son, John (Sharon) Kirch of Warsaw. Son-in-law, Charles McDonald of Fredericktown. Five grandchildren, Brett Kirch, Andrea Dickerson, Delores Shutt, Myron McDonald, and Gerald McDonald. Five great grandchildren. Six very special nieces, Barb (Bob) Fawcett, Edna Speckman, Rhea (Ed) Richards, Jean (Carl) McCurdy, Bev (Don) Cummings, and Naomi Smith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen E. (Beach) Kirch, whom he married Nov. 13, 1945, she died Oct. 28, 1999. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Shaila Joyce McDonald, his son, Ronald Keith Kirch, and his sister, Marjorie (Kirch) Speckman.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov.11, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Darling Run Cemetery. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
