Mia Dawn Alberts, age 26, of Danville, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2025
Mia laughed joyfully, cried easily, loved hard, forgave quickly, and hid her pain behind a beautiful smile. She was the one to call if you were in trouble. The one that checked in on everyone else. She told jokes, loved a good prank, and gave gifts for no reason. She was a terrible driver, a fast talker, and a trauma survivor. She was silly, goofy and ornery. And she carried burdens like weights on her shoulders. She was chaotic and kind. She was hopeful, hilarious, tragic, and a hot mess most of the time. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
She leaves behind her partner, Kenny Rucker and her children Mylee and Asher Richert, along with their father, Gavin Richert; her parents, Travis and Veronica Payne; her biological father Warren Alberts; her siblings Molly (Zack) Frazee, Mel (Josh) Banbury, Trevor Payne and Hannah Dagis, McKinley Alberts & Cole Enderle, Sydnee Payne, Madison Payne and Duncan Logue, and Ella Payne; nieces and nephews, Zaine, Spencer, Amari, Teegan, Zavier and Haley; grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
We realize now, through everyone that has reached out, that Mia belonged to the world. She knew everyone and loved everyone and she leaves us all with our own memories of her.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 2nd, from 5 to 7 pm at Fischer Funeral Home in Danville followed by a celebration of life at Poppy’s Diner on Market Street in Danville.
