Mildred Israel

West Lafayette – Mildred P. Israel, 91, passed away on Tuesday August 10, 2021 at Lafayette Point.

She was born October 31, 1929 to the late Ralph and Chloe (Hawkins) Akins. On July 19, 1948, she married Dennis Israel, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1996. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, W. Eugene Akins.

Mildred was a homemaker her whole life who enjoyed playing cards and games with her grandchildren, and loved going to casinos and crocheting, and in her later years she was her son’s sidekick on many road trips as he drove truck.

Mildred is survived by her son, Stephen (Colleen) Israel of West Lafayette, her daughter, Pamela (Scott) Grissett of Coshocton, and grandchildren, Stephanie Israel, Zachary Israel, David Israel, Carley Israel, Melissa (Jimmie) McMillan, and Kimberly Starling, 10 great grandchildren, and her niece and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Pastor Dan Eggan will officiate. Burial will follow in Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10-11:00.
