DANVILLE- Mitchell Lee "Papa" Lashley, 39, of Flat Run Rd., died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 1, 1972 in Zanesville to David H. and Mary (Hall) Lashley. He was a cadet for the Knox Co. Sheriff's Dept., serving as a deputy for 7 years. He spent 6 years on the Danville Police Dept., where he was a sergeant, and was recently a private investigator. He also volunteered for the Eastern Knox Co. Joint Fire District for fourteen years. He was a member of the Fredericktown Church of Christ, and loved helping kids in the 4-H program. He also enjoyed performing magic shows.
He is survived by his wife, Christina (Devore) Lashley of Danville, who he married July 24, 1993. He is also survived by his two daughters; Ariel & Sarena Lashley of the home, his parents, David H. & Mary Lashley of Danville, two brothers; David J. (Rachel) Lashley of Danville, and Jacob (Nicole) Lashley of Mt. Vernon, two nephews; Ian & Cloyd, and a niece, Crystal.
He is preceded in death by a grandmother, Barbara Lashley, and a grandfather, Spencer Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Pastor Monte Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Visitation is two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
