GAMBIER- Norma Jean (Ling) Ridenbaugh, 87, of Colwill Rd., died Monday, May 26, 2014 at Autumn Healthcare in Mt. Vernon.

She was born Dec. 12, 1926 in Millersburg to the late Sanford and Selma (Arnold) Ling. She married John L. Ridenbaugh on June 1, 1946, who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2013. She was employed as a Registered Nurse before her retirement. She was a master at gardening, loved crocheting, cooking and canning foods, and playing the piano, at which she was self-taught. She was also a member of the "Dogwood Blossoms" singing group. She had a strong Faith, and was very fond of the story of Nativity. As an RN she enjoyed caring for people, but none more than her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved her dogs, “Mitsy”, “Bitsy”, and “Daisy”, and her cat, “Sassy”.

She is survived by three sons; James (Linda) Ridenbaugh of Stow, Richard (Anita) Ridenbaugh of Lakeland, FL, and Eugene (Georgia) Ridenbaugh of Gambier, five grandchildren; Autumn (William) Hyder, Shelley (Paul) Amstutz, Adam (Jeany) Ridenbaugh, Dustin Ridenbaugh, and Zachary (Elizabeth)Ridenbaugh, and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Ethel Arnold, Dorothy Arnold, and Pearl (Raymond) Shepler, and five brothers; Dean, John, & Raymond Ling and two infants.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Valley Cemetery in Monroe Twp. with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
