Mount Vernon – Norman James Lower, 62, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He was born in Mount Vernon on January 22, 1954 to Cleophas and Mary Marie (McClain) Lower. He worked for Luvata Ohio for 43 years and was an active member of several organizations, including the Knox County Fish and Game Association, Knox County Pheasants Forever, the Centerburg Conservation Club, the Kokosing Chapter of the Archeology Society, the Mt. Vernon Athletic Boosters, the Knox County Historical Society, and the Ohio Gun Collectors Association, of which he was a lifetime member.
Norman is survived by his wife of 39 years , Loretta (Peck) Lower of Mount Vernon, his daughter, Mary Lower (Josh Dreher), and his son, James Lower (Christina Hutman) all of Columbus, his sisters; Iva Carr of Danville, Charil (Chris) Fuhrer of Mansfield, and Martha Lower (Lonnie Brady) of Minerva, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, his special horses; Junior and Moose, and his beloved dog, Benny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Albert Junior Weaver, and a brother-in-law, Virgil Carr.
Calling hours will be held at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville from 5-8 on Wednesday evening. A graveside memorial will take place in Workman Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8.
