SEBRING, FL- Opal Ann Williams, 71, of 8053 Pennsylvania Rd., died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 17, 1938 in Glen White, WV to the late John and Fay (England) Crosky. She was a wonderful mother who was loved dearly by family & friends. She enjoyed spending time with her special companion, David Stone, as they loved each other very much. One of her greatest accomplishments was receiving her GED. She later went on to technical college to obtain her STNA certificate when she was in her 50's. She also enjoyed making crafts & socializing.
She is survived by her loving companion, David Stone of Sebring, FL, two sons; Mike Slaughter of Ft. Myers, FL, and Steve Slaughter of Columbus, two daughters; Terri Bro of Columbus, and Elana (Mark) Cothern of Danville, a sister, Mary (Butch) Rawlins, and a brother, Frank (Dee) Crosky both of Columbus, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her lifetime best-friend, Shirley (Bill) Hilles of Columbus, a brother-in-law, Stacy Ellis of West Virginia, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Williams, a brother, John Crosky, and two sisters, Christine (Albert) Holmes, and Stella Ellis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 16th.
