DANVILLE - Peggy Lee Sapp, 59, of W. Rambo Street died May 24, 2010 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

She was born Jan. 6, 1951 in Mount Vernon to Robert Dwight and Evelyn (Wharton) Mavis.

She was employed as a cook in the dietary department of Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She attended the New Harvest Church in Mount Vernon and enjoyed playing the guitar and writing songs.

She is survived by her husband, R. Scott Sapp, who she married Oct. 29, 2001. Also surviving is her mother, Evelyn Mavis of Howard. Three daughters, Brittany and Kendra Harris of Mount Vernon and Angie Ferry of Texas. A son, Noel Ferry of Mount Vernon. Six grandchildren. Four sisters, Connie Earnest, Mary Sue Scoles, Patty Hill, and Robbie Frazee all of Howard.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be held Friday, from 5-7 p.m. at the New Harvest Church 56 Mansfield Ave. Mount Vernon where services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening with Pastor Monte Vance officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
