Polly (Blubaugh) Gardner

Danville- Martha Pauline “Polly” Gardner, 101, of Mickley St., died Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Danbury Senior Living in Mt. Vernon.

She was born March 3, 1923 in Cuyahoga Falls to the late Julius and Agatha (Butts) Blubaugh. She moved to the family farm North of Danville at 3 weeks old and lived there till graduating high school. She was a hard-worker and loved to spend time with family. She was an avid bridge player and quilt maker for siblings and grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Luke Catholic Church and past president of PCCW.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis A. Gardner of Danville, who she married Oct. 21, 1944. Surviving is a son, Edward (Becky) Gardner of Howard, three daughters; Saundra Rowland of Columbus, Jane (Mike) Byles of Howard, and Christine (Mike) Billow of Danville, nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Higgins and Evelyn Shults, two brothers; Jim and Ray Blubaugh, and grandson Eric Ringo.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am October 9, 2024 at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville with Very Reverend Father Mark Hammond and Reverend Father Homer Blubaugh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
