WARSAW-Ralph Leo "Rosie" McGrady, 75, of Spring Mountain Rd., passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 17, 2011. His passing was on St. Patrick's Day, a day he loved to celebrate. Ralph's grandpa was a native of Ireland who came to the United States in 1886 and settled in Spring Mountain, Ohio.
Ralph was born July 19, 1935 in Spring Mountain to the late George and Letha (Robinson) McGrady. He was the youngest of four boys; the late James (Bonnie) McGrady of Loudonville, the late Paul (Edna) McGrady of Coshocton, and the late "Nemo" Lawrence McGrady of Warsaw.
Ralph was a graduate of Warsaw High School, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coshocton. He retired from Clows and was a Jefferson Township Trustee. Ralph loved to have fun! He loved dancing on the weekends, walking at Kids America with his friends through the week, driving to Amish country and riding his horse "Champ" with family and friends. Anyone who knows him will tell you he loved to tell stories.
Ralph "Grandpa McGrady" is survived by his four daughters; Jacqueline McGrady of Warsaw, Deborah (Bud) Richardson of Brownsville, R. Diane (Tony) Moran of Frazeysburg, and Angela (Rich) Wade of Fallsburg, his grandchildren; Ralph A. (Amy) McGrady of Warsaw, Rachel (Lee) Squires of Coshocton, Shawna Richardson of Brownsville, James (Jen) Miller of Frazeysburg, Bobby Mc Nichols of Pickerington, Scott Mc Nichols of Dresden, Cassandra (Jared) Henderson of Nashport, Andrew (Mackenzie) McNichols of Fallsburg, Stephen (Carrie) Richardson of Turkey, Jonathan (Mary) Richardson of Blacklick, Ainsley (Jamie) Davis of Newark, Zoe Moran of Frazeysburg, and Ashley (Dustin) Meier of Granville, great grandchildren; Kaylee, Kye and Mia Squires, Alexzander Henderson, and soon to be Maverick Wade McNichols, Madeline and Quinton Richardson, Devin Machamer & Brady Scherer, Taylor Meier, a great-nephew, Nathan Boley, Jr., and a sister-in-law, Martha McGrady of Warsaw. Ralph is also survived by his three God-Children; Curt Busenburg, Ralph A. McGrady, and Scott Mc Nichols.
In addition to his parents and three brothers, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Caroll A. (Busenburg) McGrady, and his best friend, Johnny Staser of Warsaw.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 19 ,2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Coshocton with Father Homer Blubaugh and Deacon Andy Duda officiating. Interment will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m on Friday March 18that the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, who is handling arrangements. A Christian Wake Service will be held immediately after calling hours.
In celebration of Ralph's life, friends and family are invited to meet at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 250 S. 11th St., Coshocton, OH 43812, immediately following the burial for storytelling, food and beverages.
