DOVER- Rev. Wilbur Beaver, 93, formerly of Coshocton Co., died Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Hennis Care Centre in Dover.
He was born March 7, 1918 in Woodsfield to the late Thomas and Lenora (Evans) Beaver. He married Mary Lucille (Grimm) Beaver on Oct. 15, 1938, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2008. He was a minister in the Nazarene Church for 58 years, serving in Buchannan, Mannington, Charleston, Sistersville, Parkersburg, and Newell, WV, and Pomeroy, Cooperdale, and Warsaw, OH. He was a former bus driver in the River View School District, and a maintenance worker for Mt. Vernon Nazarene College. He also loved playing the guitar and fiddle.
He is survived by a son, Charles (Carol) Beaver of Dover, seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a good friend, Robert Schott.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy Beaver, a daughter, Becky Bookless, a granddaughter, Brandi Bookless, two brothers; Chester & Victor Beaver, and a sister, Bessie Minger.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2,2011at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Steve Ward & Pastor Scott Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6:00-8:00 on p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
