Danville - Richard L. Butts, 71, died Saturday April 10, 2010 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born May 19, 1938 in Knox County to the late Purcell and Rosena (Weber) Butts. On January 1, 1966, he was married to Charlotte A. Stevens. He was a lifelong farmer and mechanic and was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau, and the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville.
He is survived by his wife; Charlotte Butts, his son; Stephen Butts, and a brother; Donald (Janet) Butts all of Danville, sisters; Marie (Ken) Smith of Millersburg, and Doris Christopher of Houston, TX, a sister-in-law; Hazel Butts of Mount Vernon, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Brian Butts, brothers; Robert and Louis Butts, and a sister-in-law; Delores Butts.
Visiting will be from 10:30 until noon on Wednesday April 14, 2010, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 P.M. at St. Luke Cemetery in Danville. The Rev. F. Richard Snoke will officiate.
