CANAL LEWISVILLE - Richard Eugene "Dick" Erman, 79, of W. Rivercrest Dr. died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 4, 1932 in Coshocton to the late Arthur and Ruth (Kaufman) Erman.
He had a career in sales and parts. He was a member of the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, where he dedicated his retirement years in service to the church. He was a 1951 graduate of Conesville High School. Dick served Tuscarawas Township as township clerk for 8 terms (32 years). He was a director for many years of the Ohio Township Assn. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his son, Kevin (Patti) Erman of West Lafayette. Daughter-in-law, Jenny Erman of Rockdale, TX. His grandchildren, Matthew Erman of Fresno, Kenzie Erman of West Lafayette, Nick & John Paul Erman of Rockdale, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn (Darner) Erman, who he married Aug. 22, 1953, she died Feb. 1, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his son, Craig Erman and a sister, Ruby Snyder.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at the FISCHER FUNERAL HOME in Warsaw with Rev. James Macdonald officiating. Burial of Dick's cremated remains will follow in the Canal Lewsiville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund 198 E. Church St. Coshocton, OH 43812
