CANAL LEWISVILLE- Richard Earl "Dick" Hains, 67, of W. Pleasant St., died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at his residence after a brave battle with cancer.
He was born April 22, 1944 in Coshocton to the late Charles Henry and Blanche (Norman) Hains. He was a 1962 graduate of Three Rivers High School, and was a body repairman for 44 years, before his retirement in April 2006. He was a member of the Coshocton Co. Sportsman Association, Moose Lodge #935, and Eagles Aerie #761. Dick was an avid fisherman, camper, and enjoyed going to Canada.
He is survived by his companion of 23 years, Wanetta "Cookie" McNichols of Canal Lewisville, two daughters; Shelly Graham of West Lafayette, and Michelle Hains of Coshocton, a step-son, Don (Cathy) Saylor of Canal Lewisville, a step-daughter, Denise Ann (Lisle) Nine of Tyndal, four granddaughters; Megan & Amanda Bible and Kaitlyn Graham of West Lafayette, and Cierra Brown of Coshocton, two step-grandchildren; Jenna & Andrew Saylor of Canal Lewisville, and three sisters; Linda Cabot of West Lafayette, Mary Sherer of Stone Creek, and Carol (Larry) Wright of Niles.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Bill" Hains.
To honor Dick's wishes, his remains are to be cremated with no calling hours or services scheduled. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is serving the family. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
