DETROIT, MI- Robert Greer Crise , Jr., 61, lost a long battle with Myotonic Dystrophy on March 13, 2017. Robert was born April 7, 1955 at the Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, VA to Mary (Maddock) Crise and Ens. Robert Greer Crise, Sr. He was a graduate of Danville High School (1973) and received a Bachelors of Art degree from Kent State. He went on to get a Masters of Fine Art from the Cranbrook Academy of Arts, Bloomfield, MI.
Robert was an Eagle Scout in high school and played in the band. He was a founding member, vocalist and guitarist with the punk group, Post Industrial Noise, in Columbus, OH. After graduating from Cranbrook, he pursued his modern art career in Detroit, MI. He studied military aircraft, and his signature artworks included small jet airplanes. In addition to following punk and alternative rock music, he was an avid fan of the local Detroit sports teams. He was employed by the City of Detroit for many years.
He is survived by his father, Robert G. Crise, Sr., brother, Bruce J. Crise, sister-in-law Lisa D. Chong and nephew Owen L. Crise of Washington Grove, MD. Uncles and Aunts: Richard C. and Pauline Crise, Adm. Thomas and Caroline Maddock, Joseph and Mary Lou Maddock, Albert Gates, and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary M. Crise, and sister, Eileen Crise.
A private burial service will be held at Workman Cemetery in Danville. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
