MOUNT VERNON - Robert Grover Mowery, 67, of Rose Avenue died January 26, 2011 at his residence.

He was born June 21, 1943 in Mount Vernon to the late Norbert Lester and Faye E. (Stringfellow) Mowery.

He was a truck driver and sign maker for the Richland County Highway Dept. He was a member of the Elks Club #140 of Mount Vernon, Order of Owls of Mansfield, and Colonial City Moose #2555 of Mount Vernon.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers for Robert are Marvin & Charles Strong, Randy & Eddie Musick, Anthony Lewis, and Jimmie Rhoades.

In addition to his parents his was preceded in death by a sister, Joan M. Strong and a brother, Jack E. Mowery.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Workman Cemetery in Danville with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling the arrangements.
