Danville - Robert D. "Bob" Holt, 65, died Friday March 6, 2009 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born July 2, 1943 in Mount Vernon to Willard F. and Jean Elizabeth (Hays) Holt. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #650. He was an avid football fan, and was a coach at Danville Jr. High and of the Colt Football League for several years. He was crazy about his grandkids and was an excellent father and grandfather.
He is survived by his children; Kimberly (Virgil) Ledbetter of Mississippi, Tristan (Tonya) Holt of Alabama, Aaron (Sherri) Holt of Mississippi, Joshua (Brandie) Holt of Tennessee, Toby (Lacy) Holt of Mount Vernon, Christy (Larry) Williamson of Fredericktown, John (Tila) Johnson of Mississippi, Missy Mathis of Utah, and Jay (Jeanette) Holt of Danville, 20 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a brother; Richard Holt of Danville, and a nephew; Justin Holt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Willard and Jean "Betty" Holt, and a sister; Caroline E. Holt.
A funeral service, with military honors from the Knox County Veterans Council, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday March 10, 2009 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Lloyd Miller will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date in Tiverton Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
