Mount Vernon - Robert Amos "Bob" McNutt, 95, died Sunday August 17, 2008 at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born, along with his twin brother Chester, on 29 November 1912, in Kingsville, Ohio to Amos and Fanny McNutt.

He was a graduate of Miami University, with a Bachelors Degree and Bowling Green University with a Masters of Education degree.
Bob McNutt spent a career teaching, coaching, and as a school superintendent in schools such as Suffield Academy, Connecticut, and in Ohio schools at North Fairfield, Dorset, Marion, Kingsville, Jefferson, Danville, and retiring as the Knox County Schools Superintendent.

Bob and Eleanor made friends wherever they went and stayed in touch with classmates, students, and friends throughout their lives. Alumni reunions at Miami, Kingsville, and North Fairfield were very special occasions for them.

An avid golfer, Bob loved to get out on the golf course as frequently as the weather and the availability of a willing golfing partner permitted.

Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church of Danville and a member of the Masons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor (Kelly) McNutt and daughter Kathy (McNutt) Hollis and is survived by his son Gary and wife Rosemary McNutt of Stafford Virginia and family, and son in law Ron Hollis of Westlake Ohio and family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Doug Sweet will officiate. Burial will be in Milan Cemetery in Milan. Visiting will be from 10:00 until service time Tuesday.
