COSHOCTON- Robert Nathan Rogers, 84, of Glendale Dr., died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at Autumn Healthcare.
He was born April 7, 1930 in Lafayette Twp. to the late Dock F. and Kate (Moody) Rogers. He was a 1948 graduate of Plainfield High School, and he served in the US Navy as an electrician on the USS Amphion in Norfolk, VA from 1948-1952. He was an employee of AK Steel for 30 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Park United Methodist Church in Coshocton, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #376, American Legion Post #65, and the former Sertoma Club.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Unita F. (Akins) Rogers, whom he married Feb. 6, 1954, two daughters; Diana (Gary) Kobs of Wooster, and Tina (Jay) Love of Muncie, IN, and two nephews; Ronald Rogers of Akron, and Jay Rogers of Coshocton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Rogers, and a brother, Jack Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Jeremy Roseberry officiating. Burial will follow in Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
