WARSAW- Roger Delno Hagans, 68, of TR 53, died Friday Oct. 7, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 26, 1943 in Walhonding to the late Gilbert E. "Beetle" and Harriet P. (Hoy) Hagans. He was a 1961 graduate of Union High School. He worked at the St. Regis Paper Mill and retired from AK Steel. He was a member of the Nellie Chapel United Methodist Church. He raised show-cattle, and was a member of many different cattle associations. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing and hunting, primarily for raccoon.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda L. (Cupps) Hagans of Warsaw, who he married March 22, 1963. Also surviving is a son, Scott Roger (Sharlene) Hagans of Warsaw, a daughter, Pamela Sue (Mark) Wright of Raymond, four grandchildren; Christopher & Matthew Wright and Zachary & Madison Hagans, two brothers; Edward (Joan) Hagans of Warsaw, and Rundy Hagans of Newark, a sister, Gilbreta (Olas, Jr.) Scott of Atlanta, GA, a sister-in-law, Mildred Hagans of Coshocton, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Hagans, and twin infant siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Monica Huntsman officiating. Burial will follow in the upper New Castle Cemetery. Calling hours are from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
