Mount Vernon - Ruby Elizabeth Leedy, 91, of Old Mansfield Ave., passed away Friday December 12, 2008, at Autumn Health Care in Mount Vernon.
She was born November 18, 1917 in Knox County, a daughter of the late Walter and Eva (Carter) Winterringer. Ruby was a member of the North Bend Church of the Brethren in Danville. Ruby was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, and a talented cook, seamstress, and gardener. She was also in charge of sales at Leedy's Orchard, Gambier. Ruby was a woman of faith and was kind to everyone.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 67 years; Harley D. Leedy, her son; Duane (Judy) Leedy of Mount Vernon, her daughter; Elaine (Jerry) Stull of Howard, grandchildren; Chris (Connie) Leedy of Cincinnati, Kevin (Kirsten) Leedy of Centerville, Brock (Julie) Stull of Clintonville, and Jara Stull of Elyria, great grandchildren; Brandon and Jillian Leedy of Cincinnati, Grace and Matt Leedy of Centerville, and a sister; Aurice Magers of North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her sister; Iva (Marvin) Smith, brother; Kenneth (Winnie) Winterringer, and brother-in-law; Ross Magers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 15, 2008, from 11:00 A.M. until the service at 1:00 P.M. at the North Bend Church of the Brethren; 24458 Orange Hill Rd. Danville. Jim Lifer will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
