WARSAW - Russel Lawrence Ashcraft, 90, of Maple Street died December 27, 2012 at his residence.
He was born January 14, 1922 in Coshocton County to the late Clarence O. and Nanna A. (Campbell) Ashcraft.
He was a retired employee of the former Shaw-Barton Company in Coshocton, and a 1940 graduate of Warsaw High School. He was a member of the Warsaw United Methodist Church, and served on the Warsaw, River View, and Coshocton County School Boards.
He is survived by three daughters, Sue Kimble of Mount Vernon, Becky (Larry) Pepper and Janet Ashcraft of Warsaw. Eight grandchildren, Lisa Ringwalt of Springfield, Amy (Gene) Sawan of Akron, Julie (David) Lee of Muskegon, MI, Mary Beth Miller of Cincinnati, Heather (Jay) Sullivan of Boston, MA, Jennifer (Jason) Hogue of Pataskala, Megan (Shawn) Rupert of Newark, and Russel (Brooke) Pepper of Reynoldsburg. Fifteen great grandchildren, Daniel Owen, Allison (Tyler) Bayliss, Abigail & Andrew Lee, Jessica, Kathryn, Christina, and Sarah Miller, Fiona, Wyatt, & Aurora Sullivan, Jarrod & Jocelyn Rupert, and Meredith & Kyle Hogue, and two great great grandchildren, Aiden & Gwen Bayliss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice E. "Betty" (Bechtel) Ashcraft, whom he married June 4, 1942, she died Aug. 16, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Ashcraft.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Mr. Ray Griffith and Pastor John Rahter officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery at Warsaw. Visitation is Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. and until service time on Saturday. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
