Coshocton - Russell R. Swails, 84, of TR 162, passed away October 9, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 10, 1926 in Brisbin, PA to the late Joe and Bessie (Douglas) Swails. He married Lois M. Black on November 17, 1951. He was a US Navy WWII veteran, and was a member of the VFW Post 2040 and the Coshocton County Sportsman's Association. He worked at Sears, Montgomery Ward, and Peoples Ice of Coshocton, and owned and operated Swails Appliance Repair for more than 40 years.
Russell enjoyed his little dog "Gee", hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers with his grandsons, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; Lois, son; John (Vicki) Swails, daughters; Rusty (Gene) Shingleton, and Becky Moore, 4 grandsons; Mike Harsh, Russell (Tara) Shingleton, Steve Harsh, and Matt Shingleton, 2 granddaughters; Shelly (Gary) McCullough, and Julie Shingleton, 2 great grandsons; Dylon Harsh and Aeron Shingleton, 3 great granddaughters; Shawna Hains, Ashley Mullet, and Dylan Mullet, brother; Joe (Sue) Swails, 5 sisters; Florence Fogelsong, Dorothy Johnson, Thelma Keener, Edith (Wayne) Adams, and Sarah (Glenn) Fleming,a brother-in-law; Douglas Dickerson, and a sister-in-law; Betty Swails.
He was preceded in death by his brother John, and brothers-in-law; Ray Sibert, Walt Keener,Bernard Johnson, and Bill Fogelsong.
Visitation will be from 3-4 P.M. on Thursday October 14 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. A short memorial will follow. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice/Health Services of Coshocton; PO Box 1284, Coshocton, 43812.
