COOPERDALE- Ruth Maxine (Hawthorne) Bower, 92, of 37391TR 455, died Saturday May 5, 2012 at her residence.
She was born Oct. 9, 1919 in Perry Twp., Coshocton Co., the daughter of the late Calvin Earl and Arla (Neldon) Hawthorne. A 1939 graduate of Perry-Pike High School, she was employed at Edmont Manufacturing Company for 11 A½ years. On June 30, 1946, she married Lyle C. Bower, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1999. She and Lyle moved from Coshocton to Cooperdale in 1954, where they started the Bower TV and Appliance Store. She was a former member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Coshocton.
She is survived by her son, David C. Bower of Cooperdale, a sister, Marilyn (Mancel) Roahrig of Warsaw, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Forrest Hawthorne, and two sisters; Audrey McMillan and Eunice Allen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 8, 2012 at the FISCHER FUNERAL HOME in Warsaw with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, and until time of service on Tuesday. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
