Mt. Vernon- Sandra Kay "Sandi" Purdy Barrick, 65, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at her home.
She was born Feb. 19, 1944 in Mt. Vernon to Charles and Beatrice (Underwood) Purdy. She was a 1962 graduate of Bladensburg High School. She was employed at employed at Edmont Wilson in Mt. Vernon. She then managed the Knox Community Hospital Thrift Shop and volunteered for the KCH Auxiliary for over 20 years. Her love for Longaberger baskets turned into becoming a consultant for several years. She loved her yorkies and always enjoyed gardening and her beautiful flowers. She also loved spending time with her granddaughter. She will be sadly missed by everyone.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dale Barrick of Mt. Vernon, one daughter, Krista Woodruff of Mt. Vernon, a brother, Dan (Bonnie) Purdy of Caledonia, OH, two sisters; Linda (Larry) Stahlhut of Ft. Myers, FL and Shirlee (Tom) Mack of London, OH, one granddaughter, Kaylee Dale and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by father & mother, and her step-mother, Sally Purdy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Rev. Jack Christner officiating. Interment will follow at Workman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 at the funeral home.
